Core Health Course Series

The Core Health Course Series draws upon the digital files topically organized in the Family Health Series. Updated and organized to support health teachers responsible for delivering elementary and middle school curriculum, the Core Health Course Series engages and supports the understanding of important health topics. The new courseware enables student registration and progress tracking. The courses are also complemented by separate software for teachers with updated digital resources (drawn from the Family Health Lesson Builders). Health teachers can use the interactive files for classroom presentations with interactive whiteboards. The digital resources also include printable fact sheets and practice sheets.

Core Health I - addresses key body functions, including the senses, and addresses nutrition, hygiene and disease prevention strategies. Grades 3 to 6. The 7 Unit course contains 32 interactive lessons, 11 activities and 7 quizzes. Topics covered include: Anatomy, Injuries and Illnesses, Body Health, Disease Prevention, and Healthy Living.

Core Health Course Series Core Health II - addresses basic anatomy, puberty, healthy living practices and solving problems. Grades 5 to 8. The 6 Unit course contains 34 interactive lessons, 3 activities, 3 quizzes, 2 games and dozens of recipes. Topics covered include: Anatomy, Body Health, Growing Body, Healthy Eating, You and Others, and Personal Identity.

Core Health III - addresses important topics about staying healthy emotionally. Grades 5 to 10. The 6 Unit course contains 19 interactive lessons, 2 scenarios, and 1 quiz. Topics covered include: Communication, Emotions and You, Family, Relationships, Problem Behaviors, and School. Also included with the lessons are fact sheets, worksheets, and answer sheets.
