corefx Adopted By Alabama
PHILADELPHIA, PA – April 5, 2007 – Core Learning's corefx Three Level, a creativity and art software program, has been adopted by the State of Alabama's Board of Education Textbook committee for Kindergarten through Grade 12 as a supplementary resource for Visual Arts curriculum. Core Learning has executed a 6-year agreement with the State of Alabama for the supply of software licenses for its corefx Three Level.
“We are very excited to have this adoption,” said Doug Hatch, President of Core Learning. “ Alabama was very selective in its adoption process. Our corefx Three Level software was the only software program adopted for K -12 Arts and also the only supplementary resource adopted for Visual Arts. Technology is a fundamental part of the classroom and corefx Three Level provides an excellent opportunity to enhance curriculum while promoting artistic self-expression. corefx Three Level is a phenomenal program that has received countless awards and accolades for its diversity and ease of use. It brings tremendous added-value to visual arts education.”
In 2006, corefx Three Level earned two prestigious Distinguished Achievement awards from the Association of Educational Publishers: Best Art Software and Most Innovative Software. It also received a perfect five-star rating from the Children's technology review in 2005 and it has been recommended by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) as the best creativity software program for K-8 classrooms.
Twenty-two State Departments of Education conduct state-level evaluation and adoption of textbooks and some also consider supplementary instructional materials. Subject areas change each year and each adoption typically results in a 6-year contract between the publisher and the Department of Education for supply at guaranteed prices.
“This is our first opportunity to submit corefx Three Level to a state level adoption process,” stated Doug Hatch. “We anticipate continued success with this outstanding software program.”
